Payment method clarity for UPI, cards, net banking, wallets, COD availability, failed payments, and invoices.

Online payment

UPI, cards, net banking, and wallets should appear only when a verified payment gateway is configured. Failed payment must not create a paid or confirmed order.

COD availability

Cash on Delivery should be shown only when enabled for the customer pincode, order value, and product eligibility. If unavailable, checkout must state that clearly before order placement.

GST invoice

Customers should receive an invoice for paid orders. Business buyers should provide GSTIN and billing details before dispatch if GST invoice details are required.

Privacy for payment data

Payment credentials must be handled by the gateway. Review privacy and DPDP handling before enabling PhonePe live mode.

Refund and cancellation documents

Payment gateway approval should link clearly to refund, return, cancellation, and shipping policies.

Terms and grievance support

Customers must be able to review terms and contact support before or after a PhonePe payment attempt.
